Meeting Equitable Time Share Gap Tool

Compare an explicit speaking-time fraction with equal allocation; equality alone is not an assessment of meeting quality.

Description

Compare supplied speaking-time share with equal allocation.

Communication measurements need an explicit event origin, clock correction, count unit and exposure denominator. Timing and coverage records can be summarized without detecting actual speech, verifying message delivery or determining readability, accessibility or communication quality.

Compare supplied speaking-time share with equal allocation.

When to use this tool

Use Meeting Equitable Time Share Gap when checking the stated communication timing, rate, representation or coverage convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter speakerSeconds, totalSeconds, participants. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read actualFraction, equalFraction, gap. Use the output convention below.

Compare supplied speaking-time share with equal allocation. Require totalSeconds > 0, speakerSeconds in [0,total] and whole participants >= 1; actualFraction = speaker/total, equalFraction = 1/participants, gap = actual-equal.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
speakerSecondsSpeaker SecondsRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.

participantsParticipantsRequired. Safe integer; minimum 1.

actualFractionActual FractionRequired. Finite number.
equalFractionEqual FractionRequired. Finite number.
gapSigned difference under the stated comparison convention, with matching units.Required. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Equal time is an explicit comparison baseline, not a definition of equitable participation or effective communication.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use actual synchronized media/message records, appropriate text measurement and user evaluation for complete communication or accessibility assessment.
