Stroop Neutral Condition Latency Contrast

Compare supplied condition and neutral Stroop mean latencies without inferring a clinical or cognitive trait.

Description

Calculate supplied condition-minus-neutral mean latency.

Cognitive-task records distinguish stimuli, responses, exposure order, rating scales and adaptive timing. A stop-delay update does not estimate inhibition latency, and a screen-coordinate mapping is not a calibrated perceptual measure. Supplied observations and task flags do not themselves establish ability, diagnosis or a psychological mechanism.

Calculate supplied condition-minus-neutral mean latency.

When to use this tool

Use Stroop Neutral Condition Latency Contrast when you already have conditionMeanMilliseconds, neutralMeanMilliseconds and need to calculate supplied condition-minus-neutral mean latency.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter conditionMeanMilliseconds, neutralMeanMilliseconds. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read conditionMinusNeutralMilliseconds. Use the output convention below.

Require both mean milliseconds>=0; subtract neutral from condition.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
conditionMeanMillisecondsCondition Mean MillisecondsRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
neutralMeanMillisecondsNeutral Mean MillisecondsRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
conditionMinusNeutralMillisecondsCondition Minus Neutral MillisecondsRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The means are supplied, not estimated. No Stroop effect, uncertainty, trial cleaning, comparability or individual cognitive assessment is established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the complete experimental protocol, stimulus calibration, observation records and analysis plan. Use an appropriate full task and statistical analysis for a research interpretation; local timing, rating and coordinate transformations preserve only their declared conventions.
