Description
Return region-looking support within valid visible tracking time.
Cognitive research records can encode stimuli, response timing, probability assumptions and observation support. Local differences and caller-defined tolerance labels do not establish perceptual validity, a cognitive mechanism, statistical equivalence or a clinical assessment.
Return region-looking support within valid visible tracking time.
When to use this tool
Use Gaze Region Support Share when checking a supplied cognitive-task timing, stimulus, probability or evidence convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter durations, validTracking, inRegion, regionVisible. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read validVisibleDuration, supportedRegionDuration, share, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.
Return region-looking support within valid visible tracking time. Require aligned nonnegative durations and flags; denominator sums validTracking AND regionVisible, numerator also requires inRegion; divide or return zero with defined false.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| durations | Durations | Required. Array of finite number; minimum 0; maximum items 256. |
| validTracking | Valid Tracking | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| inRegion | In Region | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| regionVisible | Region Visible | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| validVisibleDuration | Valid Visible Duration | Required. Finite number. |
| supportedRegionDuration | Supported Region Duration | Required. Finite number. |
| share | Dimensionless numerator/denominator ratio under the explicit basis above. | Required. Finite number. |
| defined | Whether the stated denominator or information basis permits interpretation of the associated value; inspect before using a placeholder. | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Intervals and flags are supplied, without overlap removal or actual gaze/attention inference.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a validated study design, calibrated measurements and appropriate statistical/professional interpretation for cognitive or health conclusions.
