Description
Return one weighted outcome contribution under a missing flag.
Clinical research distinguishes supplied protocol metadata, participant/event records, allocation bookkeeping and an analysis target. A local count, permission flag or denominator choice can help reconcile records without establishing valid consent, randomization, regulatory compliance or a reliable treatment-effect estimate.
Return one weighted outcome contribution under a missing flag.
When to use this tool
Use Trial Outcome One Observation Weight when checking the stated clinical-research record, allocation, timing, analysis or evidence-basis convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter value, weight, totalWeight, missing. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read effectiveWeight, weightedValue, normalizedContribution. Use the output convention below.
Return one weighted outcome contribution under a missing flag. Require weight >= 0 and totalWeight > 0; missing returns zero effectiveWeight/value/contribution, otherwise value*weight and that product/totalWeight.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| value | Value | Required. Finite number. |
| weight | Caller-supplied weight on the stated observation, model or allocation basis. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| totalWeight | Positive supplied denominator, unchanged when this observation is missing. | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| missing | Missing | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| effectiveWeight | Effective Weight | Required. Finite number. |
| weightedValue | Weighted Value | Required. Finite number. |
| normalizedContribution | Normalized Contribution | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The denominator is supplied and is not recomputed after missing observations; no imputation, valid weighting design or estimator is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
