Description
Return observation, caregiver-report and extraction delays.
Developmental-study observations use explicit trial, age, stimulus and missing-data conventions. Counterbalance flags and observation shares describe supplied research records; they do not establish actual stimulus presentation, an age correction appropriate for clinical use or a developmental assessment.
Return observation, caregiver-report and extraction delays.
When to use this tool
Use Caregiver Report Source Age when checking the stated child-study observation, timing or record convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter observationDate, reportDate, extractionDate. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read reportLagDays, extractionLagDays, observationAgeDays. Use the output convention below.
Return observation, caregiver-report and extraction delays. Validate real date-only strings with observation <= report <= extraction; reportLag and extractionLag are successive UTC-day differences, observationAge spans observation to extraction.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| observationDate | Real Gregorian date, years 0000-9999, on a common UTC-midnight day basis. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| reportDate | Real date no earlier than observationDate and no later than extractionDate. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| extractionDate | Extraction Date | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| reportLagDays | Report Lag Days | Required. Safe integer. |
| extractionLagDays | Extraction Lag Days | Required. Safe integer. |
| observationAgeDays | Observation Age Days | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Years 0000-9999 are accepted by the modern parser; dates and report validity are not authenticated or clinically interpreted.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review the study protocol, actual observations and consent/assent records; use validated assessment and qualified professional judgment for developmental or care decisions.
