Description
Correct a measured signal for blank and supplied recovery.
Remediation measurements depend on sample identity, analytical method, moisture basis and monitoring effort. A blank correction, record match or treatment/control contrast can reconcile supplied values while actual contaminant removal, representative sampling and treatment effectiveness require a complete environmental assessment.
Correct a measured signal for blank and supplied recovery.
When to use this tool
Use Bioremediation Blank Recovery Reference Gap when checking the stated environmental record, concentration, mass or observation convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter observed, blank, recovery, reference. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read corrected, referenceGap. Use the output convention below.
Correct a measured signal for blank and supplied recovery. Require recovery in (0,1]; corrected = (observed-blank)/recovery, referenceGap = corrected-reference.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| observed | Observed | Required. Finite number. |
| blank | Blank | Required. Finite number. |
| recovery | Recovery | Required. Finite number; maximum 1; strictly above 0. |
| reference | Reference | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| corrected | Corrected | Required. Finite number. |
| referenceGap | Reference Gap | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The recovery and compatible signal basis are supplied; neither assay validity nor actual remediation success is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified sampling and analytical records, compatible material bases and an appropriate complete treatment/transport analysis for environmental conclusions.
