Description
Return layer-height sum and measured residual.
Biofabrication bookkeeping separates nominal geometry, deposition, material bases, layer heights and verification assertions. A local surface, fill fraction or dimensional residual describes supplied values rather than demonstrating an actual construct’s shape, material quality or biological suitability.
Return layer-height sum and measured residual.
When to use this tool
Use Layer Stack Height Residual when checking the stated benign build geometry, measurement, material or record convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter layerHeights, measuredHeight. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read summedHeight, residual. Use the output convention below.
Return layer-height sum and measured residual. Require nonnegative measuredHeight and each layer height; summedHeight adds entries, residual = measuredHeight-summedHeight.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| layerHeights | Layer Heights | Required. Array of finite number; minimum 0; maximum items 256. |
| measuredHeight | Measured Height | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| summedHeight | Summed Height | Required. Finite number. |
| residual | Signed difference in the direction stated above, with matching units. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No base offset is included; layer measurements, warping and actual build quality are not verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified manufacturing records, measured geometry and an appropriate complete process/material assessment for actual construct quality, performance or safe use.
