Biofabrication Layer Height Offset

Subtract explicit nominal layer height from measured layer height on a compatible length basis.

Loading tool…

Description

Compare measured and nominal supplied layer heights.

Fabrication records distinguish supplied design versions, geometry, image clocks and material lots. Porosity depends on an envelope-volume definition, compression-positive strain differs from extension-positive strain, and nominal circular nozzle area does not determine printed line width. These scalar terms preserve supplied measurement assumptions.

Compare measured and nominal supplied layer heights.

When to use this tool

Use Biofabrication Layer Height Offset when you already have nominalLayerHeight, measuredLayerHeight and need to compare measured and nominal supplied layer heights.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter nominalLayerHeight, measuredLayerHeight. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read signedGap. Use the output convention below.

Return measuredLayerHeight-nominalLayerHeight with signs preserved.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
nominalLayerHeightNominal Layer HeightRequired. Finite number.
measuredLayerHeightMeasured Layer HeightRequired. Finite number.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape

Limitations and assumptions

  • Use consistent length units and references. Signed finite heights are accepted; no printing, inspection, tolerance or acceptable build quality is determined.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect calibrated geometry, controlled design/material records and the complete process model. Use appropriate physical and biological assessment when evaluating a real construct, device or fabrication condition.
