Description

Return equal and supplied weighted credit for one paper.

Bibliometric credit and citation indexes depend on corpus coverage, author/affiliation identity and a declared counting convention. A fractional contribution or index threshold describes supplied records without measuring research quality, causality or comparable scholarly impact across fields.

Return equal and supplied weighted credit for one paper.

When to use this tool

Use Fractional Authorship One Paper Term when checking the stated bibliometric contribution, credit allocation or local index step.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter authors, authorWeight, totalWeight, paperCredit. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read equalCredit, weightedCredit. Use the output convention below.

Return equal and supplied weighted credit for one paper. Require whole authors >= 1, positive totalWeight, authorWeight within [0,totalWeight] and paperCredit >= 0; equalCredit = credit/authors, weightedCredit = credit*weight/totalWeight.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Neither author counts nor the complete weight distribution is verified; credit conventions do not establish actual contribution or quality.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified complete publication/citation data, identity resolution and a justified field/context-aware evaluation policy for research assessment.
