Description

Preserve an explicit bibliography article identifier as text, including prefixes and leading zeros.

Bibliographic records distinguish editions, publication states, author identifiers, dates and fractional-credit conventions. A DOI-shaped string may not resolve, and an ORCID-shaped string can fail its checksum. Supplied status and source labels organize evidence without establishing authorship, publication validity or a complete impact measure.

Preserve an explicit bibliography article identifier as text, including prefixes and leading zeros.

When to use this tool

Use Bibliography Article Number Token when you already have referenceId, articleNumber and need to preserve an explicit bibliography article identifier as text, including prefixes and leading zeros.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter referenceId, articleNumber. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read token. Use the output convention below.

Enter referenceId, articleNumber using the field constraints below. Encode these values, in exactly that order, as a JSON array and return the serialized array as text in token. String values are preserved without trimming or external terminology lookup.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The record preserves supplied identifiers, wording and provenance; it does not authenticate the source, resolve an identifier, retrieve evidence or verify the asserted relationship.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Check original publications, authoritative identifier records and current publisher notices. Define counting scope, credit allocation and date meaning before combining local labels or author overlaps into a bibliometric analysis.
