Description
Return whole-interval status only for complete observation.
Behavioral-study coding depends on observation intervals, missing samples, event records and assignment rules. Partial-, whole- and momentary-sampling summaries answer different questions; local agreement or coverage does not establish actual behavior, a diagnosis or an effective intervention.
Return whole-interval status only for complete observation.
When to use this tool
Use Whole Interval Observation One Miss when checking the stated behavioral-research observation, assignment, coverage or coding convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter observed, missing. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read completeObservation, wholeInterval, misses. Inspect completeObservation, wholeInterval before interpreting the associated values.
Return whole-interval status only for complete observation. Require aligned observed/missing arrays; completeObservation needs nonempty input with no missing flags, wholeInterval also requires all observed true, misses counts known false entries.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| observed | Observed | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| missing | Missing | Required. Array of boolean; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| completeObservation | Complete Observation | Required. Boolean. |
| wholeInterval | True only with nonempty complete observation and every observed sample true. | Required. Boolean. |
| misses | Misses | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Missing observations are not treated as negative; no actual behavior, clinical diagnosis or intervention adequacy is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified observations and the study’s complete sampling/coding protocol, with appropriate statistical and professional interpretation for health or intervention decisions.
