Description
Label a supplied presented/response-recorded trial state.
Behavioral records distinguish observed outcomes, missing observations, response deadlines, code conflicts and sampling opportunities. Unobserved trials differ from observed wrong responses, while time coverage differs from event probability. Supplied observations and cutoff values do not by themselves validate a task or identify a behavioral mechanism.
Label a supplied presented/response-recorded trial state.
When to use this tool
Use Task Missed Response Label when you already have trialCode, presented, responseRecorded and need to label a supplied presented/response-recorded trial state.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter trialCode, presented, responseRecorded. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read label. Use the output convention below.
Require trialCode nonempty and responseRecorded implies presented; return not-presented, response-recorded or missed-response.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| trialCode | Trial Code | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| presented | Presented | Required. Boolean. |
| responseRecorded | Response Recorded | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| label | Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
{
"input": {
"trialCode": "T17",
"presented": true,
"responseRecorded": false
},
"output": {
"label": "T17 [missed-response]"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- No response timing, accuracy, willingness, task validity or cognitive conclusion is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the complete protocol, observation records and analysis plan. Check missingness, coding rules, timing and sampling design before interpreting local counts, labels or interval fractions as research outcomes or appropriate interventions.
