Description
Preserve a supplied stimulus-response mapping and version.
Behavioral records distinguish observed outcomes, missing observations, response deadlines, code conflicts and sampling opportunities. Unobserved trials differ from observed wrong responses, while time coverage differs from event probability. Supplied observations and cutoff values do not by themselves validate a task or identify a behavioral mechanism.
Preserve a supplied stimulus-response mapping and version.
When to use this tool
Use Stimulus Response Mapping Token when you already have stimulusCode, responseCode, mappingVersion and need to preserve a supplied stimulus-response mapping and version.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter stimulusCode, responseCode, mappingVersion. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read token. Use the output convention below.
Require all three strings nonempty; serialize [mappingVersion,stimulusCode,responseCode] in that order.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| stimulusCode | Stimulus Code | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| responseCode | Response Code | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| mappingVersion | Mapping Version | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| token | Serialized [mappingVersion,stimulusCode,responseCode], with version first. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
{
"input": {
"stimulusCode": "S17",
"responseCode": "left",
"mappingVersion": "v2"
},
"output": {
"token": "[\"v2\",\"S17\",\"left\"]"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Version leads the key despite the interface field order. No actual mapping, task execution, congruency or participant response is verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the complete protocol, observation records and analysis plan. Check missingness, coding rules, timing and sampling design before interpreting local counts, labels or interval fractions as research outcomes or appropriate interventions.
