Description
Compare supplied behavioral-context labels.
Behavioral records distinguish observed outcomes, missing observations, response deadlines, code conflicts and sampling opportunities. Unobserved trials differ from observed wrong responses, while time coverage differs from event probability. Supplied observations and cutoff values do not by themselves validate a task or identify a behavioral mechanism.
Compare supplied behavioral-context labels.
When to use this tool
Use Behavior Context Change Flag when you already have previousContext, currentContext and need to compare supplied behavioral-context labels.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter previousContext, currentContext. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read changed, transition. Inspect changed before interpreting the associated values.
Require both context strings nonempty; return exact inequality and serialize the ordered previous/current pair.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| previousContext | Previous Context | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| currentContext | Current Context | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| changed | Changed | Required. Boolean. |
| transition | Transition | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
{
"input": {
"previousContext": "home",
"currentContext": "work"
},
"output": {
"changed": true,
"transition": "[\"home\",\"work\"]"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Case and whitespace matter. The comparison does not detect environmental changes, interpret context or establish a behavioral effect.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the complete protocol, observation records and analysis plan. Check missingness, coding rules, timing and sampling design before interpreting local counts, labels or interval fractions as research outcomes or appropriate interventions.
