IBAN Country Length Format Lookup
Audit caller verified country BBAN format/length independently from mod97 checksum, safe restricted fixed-width regex grammar and no issued-account inference. Caller independently verifies edition, jurisdiction, applicability and one currency; screening does not establish legal compliance, coverage or bank approval.
Description
An IBAN format combines a country code, check digits and a country-specific account pattern.
An IBAN format combines a country code, check digits and a country-specific account pattern.1
Length and BBAN syntax checks are narrower than checksum or account-existence validation. Use IBAN Country Length Format Lookup to evaluate the supplied inputs under the model explained below.
When to use IBAN Country Length Format Lookup
Use IBAN Country Length Format Lookup to evaluate the supplied inputs under the model explained below. Establish the currency and minor-unit convention, measurement period and applicable transaction or institution context.
How to use IBAN Country Length Format Lookup and understand its results
- Establish the currency and minor-unit convention, measurement period and applicable transaction or institution context.
- Enter Caller country codes, Caller iban lengths, Caller bban regex sources, Iban using the field table and validation rules below, then run the tool.
- Read Caller country length, Length matches caller country, Bban matches caller format; interpret the units, signs, ordering and unknown-value placeholders described below.
- Correct reported input errors and rerun. Apply successful results according to their specific meanings and check the assumptions before using them in a decision.
| Input field | Meaning | Value type | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| callerCountryCodes | Caller country codes | array of string | Required; constraints below |
| callerIbanLengths | Caller iban lengths | array of number | Required; constraints below |
| callerBbanRegexSources | Caller bban regex sources | array of string | Required; constraints below |
| iban | Iban | string | Required; constraints below |
Supply a nonempty unique catalog of uppercase two-letter country codes, aligned integer IBAN lengths 15–34 and bounded BBAN format strings, then enter a canonical uppercase IBAN with country, two numeric check digits and 1–30 alphanumeric BBAN characters. Formats permit 1–8 concatenated [A-Z], [0-9] or [A-Z0-9] groups, each with a fixed count 1–99; arbitrary regular expressions are rejected. Exactly match the country catalog and return its expected length plus independent length and anchored BBAN-match booleans. Unsupported country or malformed notation is an input error; validly entered mismatches return false. No MOD-97 checksum, registry retrieval or account check occurs.
lengthMatch=iban.length==callerLength; bbanMatch=callerRestrictedPattern matches iban.slice(4) Use the field order, units and branch conditions described above.
| Output field | Meaning | Value type |
|---|---|---|
| callerCountryLength | Caller country length | number |
| lengthMatchesCallerCountry | Length matches caller country | boolean |
| bbanMatchesCallerFormat | Bban matches caller format | boolean |

} Limitations and assumptions
Length and BBAN syntax checks are narrower than checksum or account-existence validation. Apply the exact scope and assumptions explained above.
All listed fields require explicit values. Unexpected fields, incorrect types, nonfinite numbers and sparse arrays fail validation. Domain-specific bounds, alignments and supported tokens are explained above; extremely large inputs or outputs can also be rejected. Input errors differ from successful false results, empty match lists and unknown-evidence placeholders.
