Description
Parse numeric rainfall or a trace token into bounds.
Atmospheric state formulas depend on absolute temperature, pressure reference, water mass/volume bases and layer assumptions. Local adiabatic, hydrostatic or precipitation terms can illustrate a supplied model without reconstructing an actual profile, validating an instrument or predicting weather hazards.
Parse numeric rainfall or a trace token into bounds.
When to use this tool
Use Atmospheric Science: Rainfall Trace Token To Censored Value when checking the stated atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity or water-basis term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter token, detectionLimit. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.
Parse numeric rainfall or a trace token into bounds. Require detectionLimit > 0; T returns censored with lower zero and exclusive upper detectionLimit, otherwise accept canonical nonnegative decimal text and return equal inclusive bounds.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| token | Token | Required. Text. Implementation limit: 8192 Unicode code points and 16384 UTF-16 code units. |
| detectionLimit | Detection Limit | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| result | Returned calculated value or nested object under the stated output convention. | Required. Object. |
| result.censored | Censored | Calculated result member: boolean. |
| result.lower | Lower | Calculated result member: number. |
| result.upper | Upper | Calculated result member: number. |
| result.upperInclusive | False for T trace bound, true for a numeric exact-value envelope. | Calculated result member: boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The trace convention and units are supplied; numeric text is converted to floating point and no instrument detection or rainfall quality is verified.
- Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified observations and an appropriate complete thermodynamic/profile analysis with explicit units, references and moisture assumptions for meteorological conclusions.
