Art Material Reuse Fraction

Describe the measured reusable share of a studio material batch without determining material safety or suitability.

Description

Calculate a supplied reusable-material mass fraction.

Studio records combine critique categories, time allowances, grid scales, nominal storage counts and permission assertions. A linear enlargement factor must be squared for area, while slot counts do not establish safe physical storage. Supplied rubric labels and participation records do not assess learning or artistic quality.

Calculate a supplied reusable-material mass fraction.

When to use this tool

Use Art Material Reuse Fraction when you already have reusableMass, totalUsedMass and need to calculate a supplied reusable-material mass fraction.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter reusableMass, totalUsedMass. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read reuseFraction, nonreusableMass. Use the output convention below.

Require totalUsedMass>0 and reusableMass within [0,total]; return reusable/total and total-reusable.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
reusableMassReusable MassRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
totalUsedMassTotal Used MassRequired. Finite number; strictly above 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
reuseFractionReuse FractionRequired. Finite number.
nonreusableMassNonreusable MassRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Reuse suitability is asserted rather than assessed. This does not evaluate contamination, actual recovery, material compatibility or safe classroom use.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the actual classroom, materials, work, rubric and permissions. Use complete educational and physical assessment when local labels, counts or duration budgets cannot establish access, suitable instruction or safe studio arrangements.
