Object Vibration Peak RMS Factor Tool

RMS from an explicit peak/RMS crest factor; peak-to-peak assumes symmetric positive and negative peaks.

Loading tool…

Description

Return RMS and peak-to-peak vibration amplitudes.

Conservation measurements separate nominal material composition, contact geometry, expansion and mechanical response. A volume fraction or clearance term evaluates supplied properties under a limited model; actual material compatibility, treatment effects and object stability require examination and specialist judgment.

Return RMS and peak-to-peak vibration amplitudes.

When to use this tool

Use Object Vibration Peak RMS Factor when checking the stated conservation material, dimensional or mechanical term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter peakAmplitude, crestFactor. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read rmsAmplitude, peakToPeak. Use the output convention below.

Return RMS and peak-to-peak vibration amplitudes. Require peakAmplitude >= 0 and crestFactor >= 1; RMS = peak/crest, peakToPeak = 2*peak.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
peakAmplitudePeak AmplitudeRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
crestFactorPositive supplied peak/RMS ratio.Required. Finite number; minimum 1.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
rmsAmplitudeRms AmplitudeRequired. Finite number.
peakToPeakTwice supplied peak amplitude under a symmetric-extrema assumption.Required. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The peak-to-peak relation assumes symmetric extrema; no waveform measurement, damage threshold or safe transport condition is determined.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated measurements, representative material tests and qualified conservation/engineering assessment before actual treatment, mounting or handling.
