Description
Serialize supplied object-layer order with an explicit chronology direction.
Conservation records distinguish measured areas, source-qualified condition labels, storage clearances and light exposure. Lux-hours measure photometric exposure, whereas material response depends on spectrum and sensitivity. A nominal inverse-square distance ratio or geometric mask share does not establish an appropriate treatment or safe display limit.
Serialize supplied object-layer order with an explicit chronology direction.
When to use this tool
Use Object Layer Chronology Token when you already have objectId, layerIds, olderToYounger and need to serialize supplied object-layer order with an explicit chronology direction.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter objectId, layerIds, olderToYounger. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read token. Use the output convention below.
Require objectId nonempty and unique nonempty layer IDs; serialize [objectId,direction,layerIds], with direction older-to-younger or younger-to-older.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| objectId | Object Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| layerIds | Layer Ids | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| olderToYounger | Older To Younger | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| token | JSON [objectId,direction,layerIds]; layer list is preserved rather than reversed. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

"input": {
"objectId": "O17",
"layerIds": [
"L1",
"L2"
],
"olderToYounger": true
},
"output": {
"token": "[\"O17\",\"older-to-younger\",[\"L1\",\"L2\"]]"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- The list is preserved rather than reversed or dated; an empty layer list is accepted. No stratigraphy, chronology, material identification or authenticity is verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use calibrated observations and the complete conservation, lighting or transport assessment. Check material response, geometry, history and actual condition before applying local ratios, exposure terms or labels to an object.
