Regional Statistic Boundary Vintage

Label a statistic’s explicitly supplied geographic boundary vintage and signed year gap without harmonizing boundaries.

Description

Label supplied statistic and boundary years and compare their vintages.

Regional sources preserve geographic scope, language coverage, boundary vintages, archive identifiers and historical wording. A statistic year can differ from its boundary year, and a source-access label does not grant reuse rights. Literal names and transliterations require their own documentary context.

Label supplied statistic and boundary years and compare their vintages.

When to use this tool

Use Regional Statistic Boundary Vintage when you already have regionCode, statisticYear, boundaryYear and need to label supplied statistic and boundary years and compare their vintages.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter regionCode, statisticYear, boundaryYear. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read label, vintageGapYears. Use the output convention below.

Require regionCode nonempty and both years whole 1..9999; return the label and statisticYear-boundaryYear.1

labelLabelRequired. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
vintageGapYearsstatisticYear-boundaryYear; a signed year difference, not a spatial comparability correction.Required. Safe integer.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Year difference does not measure comparability or correct a geography mismatch. No boundary, source statistic, jurisdiction or aggregation is retrieved.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult original datasets, maps, archives and language sources. Verify geography, period, translation and permissions before using local identifiers or labels to support historical, political or statistical interpretations.
