Description
Return pump-cycle totals and nominal closing water volume.
Aquaponic balances distinguish wet feed, dry matter, nutrient mass, concentration and water volume. A balance term can expose changes or losses without identifying nutrient availability, biological conversion or a suitable supplement dose. Each mass fraction must be attached to its stated material basis.
Return pump-cycle totals and nominal closing water volume.
When to use this tool
Use Aquaponic Water Level Pump Cycle Budget when checking the stated aquaponic material, nutrient or measurement basis.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter cycleCount, pumpedPerCycle, returnFraction, openingVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read grossPumped, netVolumeLoss, closingVolume. Use the output convention below.
Return pump-cycle totals and nominal closing water volume. Require nonnegative whole cycles, nonnegative pumped/opening volume and returnFraction in [0,1]; gross = count*perCycle, loss = gross*(1-return), closing = opening-loss.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| cycleCount | Cycle Count | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| pumpedPerCycle | Pumped Per Cycle | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| returnFraction | Return Fraction Unit: 1. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| openingVolume | Opening Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| grossPumped | Gross Pumped | Required. Finite number. |
| netVolumeLoss | Net Volume Loss | Required. Finite number. |
| closingVolume | Opening volume minus modeled net loss; negative balances are retained. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Closing volume may be negative; no pump control, storage feasibility or safe animal conditions are verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
