Aquaponic Tankbed Volume Ratio Tool

Calculate aquaponic tankbed volume ratio from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Loading tool…

Description

Return tank-to-bed ratios on gross and water-capacity bases.

Aquaponic records allocate supplied bed area, tank volume, shared resources and observation support. A ratio or target gap depends on what is counted once and on the caller’s chosen target; it does not select a stocking, feeding or plant-production recommendation.

Return tank-to-bed ratios on gross and water-capacity bases.

When to use this tool

Use Aquaponic Tankbed Volume Ratio when checking the stated aquaponic allocation, target or record-support convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter tankVolume, bedGrossVolume, mediaFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read grossRatio, waterCapacityRatio. Use the output convention below.

Return tank-to-bed ratios on gross and water-capacity bases. Require tankVolume >= 0, bedGrossVolume > 0 and mediaFraction in [0,1); grossRatio = tank/bed, capacity ratio divides by bed*(1-media).1

Limitations and assumptions

  • MediaFraction is occupied solid volume under this convention; actual pore structure, water capacity and suitable system balance are not inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified system records and qualified aquaculture/agronomic assessment for actual stocking, feeding, plant requirements or operational decisions.
