Description
Serialize an alias-based genealogy edge.
Anthropological records depend on source-specific labels, observation periods, coding choices and participant context. A ratio, cyclic index or kinship-code offset describes supplied data rather than identifying a social relationship or cultural meaning. Replacing names with aliases does not establish anonymity.
Serialize an alias-based genealogy edge.
When to use this tool
Use Authorized Genealogy Anonymized Edge Key when checking the stated observation, coding, chronology or record convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sourceAlias, targetAlias, directed. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read key. Use the output convention below.
Serialize an alias-based genealogy edge. Directed preserves source/target order; otherwise sort the pair lexically before JSON serialization.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| sourceAlias | Literal supplied alias; no anonymization or authorization check. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| targetAlias | Literal supplied alias; lexical sorting is used for an undirected edge. | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| directed | Directed | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| key | Key | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
{
"input": {
"sourceAlias": "B",
"targetAlias": "A",
"directed": false
},
"output": {
"key": "[\"A\",\"B\"]"
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Aliases are supplied and may be identifying; the key does not provide anonymization, consent verification or actual genealogy validation.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Consult the original field records, community context and appropriate ethical/privacy practices for cultural interpretation or disclosure decisions.
