Description
Return earliest/latest simulation-step gaps to an anchor.
Anesthesia-related research and training records require explicit clocks, missingness flags, exclusions and measurement references. These tools reconcile benign records, simulations or bench data; an acceptable local overlap or composition sum does not establish clinical adequacy or safe patient care. Censored observations provide bounds rather than observed event times.
Return earliest/latest simulation-step gaps to an anchor.
When to use this tool
Use Simulation Step Anchor Gap when checking the stated benign record, simulation, timing or bench-measurement convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter stepIds, markerTimes, selectedStep, suppliedAnchor. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read occurrences, earliestGap, latestGap, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.
Return earliest/latest simulation-step gaps to an anchor. Require aligned step IDs/times; select matching steps, count occurrences, subtract suppliedAnchor from minimum/maximum time, or return zero gaps with defined false when absent.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| stepIds | Step Ids | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| markerTimes | Marker Times | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| selectedStep | Selected Step | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| suppliedAnchor | Supplied Anchor | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| occurrences | Occurrences | Required. Safe integer. |
| earliestGap | Zero placeholder when no selected step occurs and defined=false. | Required. Finite number. |
| latestGap | Latest Gap | Required. Finite number. |
| defined | Whether the associated denominator or reporting quantity is defined; inspect before interpreting zero placeholders. | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Missing zero gaps are placeholders; training sequence quality, real event timing and clinical performance are not verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified source records and appropriate complete analysis for research or quality review; seek qualified medical and engineering assessment for actual clinical care or equipment decisions.
