Description
Compare supplied printed pack expiry and evaluation dates.
Anesthesia records distinguish event clocks, source-qualified device specifications, printed dates and supplied research-exclusion flags. A gas-fraction label is not a concentration recommendation, and a date comparison does not establish sterility or equipment readiness. Local record arithmetic cannot assess an actual clinical situation.
Compare supplied printed pack expiry and evaluation dates.
When to use this tool
Use Anesthesia Consumable Sterile Pack Expiry when you already have packId, printedExpiryDate, asOfDate and need to compare supplied printed pack expiry and evaluation dates.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter packId, printedExpiryDate, asOfDate. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read daysUntilPrintedExpiry, pastPrintedDate. Inspect pastPrintedDate before interpreting the associated values.
Require packId nonempty and real UTC dates; return expiry-asOf calendar days and pastPrintedDate=true only for a negative difference.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| packId | Pack Id | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| printedExpiryDate | Printed Expiry Date | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| asOfDate | As Of Date | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. Real proleptic Gregorian YYYY-MM-DD; four-digit years 0000-9999 accepted. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| daysUntilPrintedExpiry | Days Until Printed Expiry | Required. Finite number. |
| pastPrintedDate | True strictly after the printed date; equality gives false and does not establish sterility. | Required. Boolean. |
{
"input": {
"packId": "PK17",
"printedExpiryDate": "2026-11-10",
"asOfDate": "2026-11-01"
},
"output": {
"daysUntilPrintedExpiry": 9,
"pastPrintedDate": false
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Equality is not past the printed date. Date arithmetic does not establish sterility, packaging integrity, manufacturer conditions, actual expiry or readiness for care.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified monitoring, equipment, clinical and controlled protocol records within the appropriate professional workflow. Local labels and timing gaps do not select devices, guide anesthesia, determine safe settings or replace clinical assessment.
