Description
Return leading-zero counts and identifier collision groups.
Machine and field identifiers carry literal spelling, prefix, length and numeric-token conventions. Removing leading zeros can merge distinct identifiers, and a restricted task-token parser does not validate a complete machinery message or standard. Preserve original spellings when resolving ambiguous records.
Return leading-zero counts and identifier collision groups.
When to use this tool
Use Field ID Leading Zero Budget when checking the stated machinery value conversion or identifier-token convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter identifiers. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read leadingZeroCounts, numericCollisionGroups. Use the output convention below.
Return leading-zero counts and identifier collision groups. Require nonempty decimal-digit strings; strip leading zeros while preserving one zero, count removed digits, group distinct original strings sharing normalized text and count groups with multiple spellings.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| identifiers | Literal supplied identifiers; no database lookup or implicit identifier equivalence. | Required. Array of text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192; maximum items 256. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| leadingZeroCounts | Leading Zero Counts | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| numericCollisionGroups | Groups of distinct original digit spellings that become equal after removing leading zeros; no Number conversion. | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No numeric conversion is performed and repeated identical strings do not create collisions; field identity and leading-zero semantics are not inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
