Polyculture Price Weighted Yield Term Tool

Calculate polyculture price weighted yield term from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Loading tool…

Description

Return sum(yield*price) and grossValue/area.

Agricultural value and energy contributions require explicit quantity, area and conversion bases. A price-weighted harvest total differs from profit, while an energy input differs from net energy or a life-cycle impact. Supplied coefficients define only the stated component.

Return sum(yield*price) and grossValue/area.

When to use this tool

Use Polyculture Price Weighted Yield Term when checking the stated gross-value or energy contribution.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter yields, prices, area. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read grossValue, valuePerArea. Use the output convention below.

Require aligned nonnegative yield quantities and per-yield prices, plus positive area. Return sum(yield*price) and grossValue/area.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Yields are supplied amounts, not automatically per-area rates; costs, risk and ecological outcomes are omitted.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use a complete verified farm budget or life-cycle inventory with consistent boundaries and uncertainty for financial or environmental comparisons.
