Description
Return reading*unitFactor*extractVolume/sampleMass.
Soil and plant analytical results depend on sample mass, extraction volume, dilution, blanks and dry-matter basis. Concentration in an extract is distinct from analyte mass per soil mass or an inventory per field area. A unit conversion does not convert between analytical methods or establish nutrient availability.
Return reading*unitFactor*extractVolume/sampleMass.
When to use this tool
Use Soil Phosphorus Extract Unit Crosswalk when checking the stated benign analytical concentration, inventory or calibration basis.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter reading, suppliedMassUnitFactor, extractVolume, sampleMass. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read coherentMassPerMass. Use the output convention below.
Require positive supplied mass-unit factor and sample mass, with nonnegative extract volume. Return reading*unitFactor*extractVolume/sampleMass.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |

| suppliedMassUnitFactor | Positive factor converting reading*extractVolume into the intended analyte-mass unit. | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| extractVolume | Extract Volume | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| sampleMass | Sample Mass | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| coherentMassPerMass | Coherent Mass Per Mass | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- This is a caller-defined unit crosswalk, not conversion between extractant methods or a phosphorus-availability calibration; signed readings are retained.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified laboratory methods, compatible units and qualified laboratory/agronomic assessment for actual analytical interpretation, chemical handling or field management.
