Agriculture Manure Nutrient Content

Account declared independent dry-basis manure nutrient components from wet mass and model first-year availability; elemental/oxide bases must be consistent and release fractions are not nutrient sufficiency recommendations.

Description

Manure nutrient inventories depend on dry matter and the assay's nutrient basis.

Manure nutrient inventories depend on dry matter and the assay's nutrient basis. A supplied availability fraction distinguishes total nutrient mass from expected first-year availability.1

Account declared independent dry-basis manure nutrient components from wet mass and model first-year availability; elemental/oxide bases must be consistent and release fractions are not nutrient sufficiency recommendations.

When to use Agriculture Manure Nutrient Content

Use this tool to account declared independent dry-basis manure nutrient components from wet mass and model first-year availability; elemental/oxide bases must be consistent and release fractions are not nutrient sufficiency recommendations.

Prepare the field, crop, soil or material measurements for the intended period. Confirm units, dry/wet bases and supplied parameters; keep paired observations aligned.

How to use Agriculture Manure Nutrient Content and understand its results

  1. Prepare the field, crop, soil or material measurements for the intended period. Confirm units, dry/wet bases and supplied parameters; keep paired observations aligned.
  2. Enter manureWetMassTonnes, manureDryMatterFraction, dryBasisNutrientFractions, firstYearAvailableNutrientFractions using the field table and calculation rules, then run the tool.
  3. Read totalDeclaredNutrientMassesKg, firstYearModelAvailableNutrientMassesKg. The explanation below defines the units, signs, ordering and any flags or placeholder values.
  4. If the tool reports an input issue, correct the values and run it again. Apply the stated assumptions when interpreting a successfully returned result.

manureDryMatterFractionManure dry matter fractionnumberRequired
dryBasisNutrientFractionsDry basis nutrient fractionslist of numberRequired
firstYearAvailableNutrientFractionsFirst year available nutrient fractionslist of numberRequired

Enter nonnegative wet manure tonnes, dry-matter fraction in [0,1] and aligned nutrient and first-year availability fractions in [0,1]. Independent dry nutrient fractions cannot sum above one. Return total component kg and each total times its availability fraction.

Paired lists must be nonempty and have equal lengths.

totalNutrientKg_i = wetTonnes × 1000 × dryMatterFraction × dryNutrientFraction_i

Units, indexing, boundary conditions and exceptional cases are defined in the calculation rules above.

Limitations and assumptions

Assays must use consistent independent elemental bases; oxide percentages require separate handling. Availability is supplied calibration, not nutrient sufficiency or an application recommendation.

Numeric inputs must be finite. Follow the calculation-specific rules for overflow, underflow and exceptional cases. Numeric lists are limited to 100,000 entries; the rules above may require smaller limits. Missing required fields, extra fields, wrong value types and violations of the calculation rules are input errors.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use Agriculture Fertilizer Requirement Nitrogen: Balance caller crop N uptake/available soil/other credits with explicit recovery/product fractions; a simple accounting scenario, not agronomic sufficiency, environmental permission or application recommendation. For a complementary task, use Agriculture Fertilizer Requirement Phosphorus: Account harvest P removal plus caller soil-build budget and credits, explicitly separating elemental P, P2O5 and product mass; distinct from N recovery/uptake balance, without soil-test recommendations.
