Description
Return remaining units, expiryDay-checkDay and boundary usability using <= or < according to expiryIncluded.
Policy-related period and quantity calculations need explicit expiry boundaries, claim-season anchors and moisture conventions. Half-open periods differ from inclusive day counts, and moisture-standardized mass differs from observed wet mass. Supplied rules and reference values do not establish current policy.
Return remaining units, expiryDay-checkDay and boundary usability using <= or < according to expiryIncluded.
When to use this tool
Use Quota Carryover Expiry Gap when checking the stated caller-defined policy time, proration or material-basis convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter carryoverUnits, usedUnits, checkDay, expiryDay, expiryIncluded. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read remainingUnits, expirySlack, usableUnderBoundary. Inspect usableUnderBoundary before interpreting the associated values.
Require nonnegative carryover and used units with used<=carryover, and whole day coordinates. Return remaining units, expiryDay-checkDay and boundary usability using <= or < according to expiryIncluded.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| carryoverUnits | Carryover Units | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| usedUnits | Used Units | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| checkDay | Check Day | Required. Safe integer. |
| expiryDay | Expiry Day | Required. Safe integer. |
| expiryIncluded | Expiry Included | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| remainingUnits | Remaining Units | Required. Finite number. |
| expirySlack | Expiry Slack | Required. Safe integer. |
| usableUnderBoundary | Only tests the expiry boundary; may remain true when remainingUnits=0. | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Boundary usability is independent of whether any units remain; no actual quota or expiry rule is retrieved.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
