Description
Return marginalRate=baseRate*tierFactor and contribution=marginalRate*eligibleIncrement.
Agricultural policy budgets distinguish supplied reference prices, eligible bases, marginal rates, match shares, caps and tax assumptions. Arithmetic can reconcile a stated scenario without determining what a real program permits or what anyone is owed. Percentage numbers, fractional rates and currency-per-unit rates must remain distinct.
Return marginalRate=baseRate*tierFactor and contribution=marginalRate*eligibleIncrement.
When to use this tool
Use Payment Tier Marginal Factor when checking the stated caller-defined policy budget, payment or valuation convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter baseRate, tierFactor, eligibleIncrement. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read marginalRate, contribution. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative base rate, tier factor and eligible increment. Return marginalRate=baseRate*tierFactor and contribution=marginalRate*eligibleIncrement.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| baseRate | Base Rate | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| tierFactor | Nonnegative rate multiplier; may exceed one. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| eligibleIncrement | Eligible Increment | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| marginalRate | Marginal Rate | Required. Finite number. |
| contribution | Contribution | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Tier factor is an unrestricted nonnegative multiplier, not necessarily a fraction; this is one marginal tier, not a complete payment schedule.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
