Description
Return target/source factor and nominal*factor, keeping a signed nominal value.
Agricultural policy budgets distinguish supplied reference prices, eligible bases, marginal rates, match shares, caps and tax assumptions. Arithmetic can reconcile a stated scenario without determining what a real program permits or what anyone is owed. Percentage numbers, fractional rates and currency-per-unit rates must remain distinct.
Return target/source factor and nominal*factor, keeping a signed nominal value.
When to use this tool
Use Agricultural Policy Price Year Index Factor when checking the stated caller-defined policy budget, payment or valuation convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter nominal, sourceIndex, targetIndex. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read factor, adjusted. Use the output convention below.
Require positive source and target indexes. Return target/source factor and nominal*factor, keeping a signed nominal value.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| nominal | Nominal | Required. Finite number. |
| sourceIndex | Source Index | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| targetIndex | Target Index | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| factor | Factor | Required. Finite number. |
| adjusted | Adjusted | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Indexes must share a compatible series and base convention; the tool does not retrieve inflation data or determine a valid policy adjustment.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
