Farm Capital Working Day Carry Cost

Multiply explicit farm working capital, signed daily carry rate and supplied working-day count without constructing a holiday calendar.

Description

Calculate supplied simple working-day capital carry cost.

Farm economic terms require explicit cost scope, subsidy treatment, price-index bases, moisture conventions and period rates. A partial input cost per output differs from total economic cost, while an insurance scenario excludes unsupplied policy limits. A nominal margin is conditional on supplied amounts and assumptions.

Calculate supplied simple working-day capital carry cost.

When to use this tool

Use Farm Capital Working Day Carry Cost when you already have capitalAmount, dailyCarryRate, workingDays and need to calculate supplied simple working-day capital carry cost.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter capitalAmount, dailyCarryRate, workingDays. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read carryCost. Use the output convention below.

Require capital>=0 and workingDays a nonnegative safe whole count; return capital*dailyCarryRate*workingDays.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
capitalAmountCapital AmountRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
dailyCarryRateSigned decimal cost/capital/day rate; no compounding.Required. Finite number.
workingDaysSupplied nonnegative safe whole day count; business dates are not calculated.Required. Safe integer; minimum 0.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
carryCostCarry CostRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Daily rate is a signed decimal fraction; working-day count is supplied rather than calculated from a calendar. No compounding, legal rate or actual finance cost is determined.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Reconcile actual farm accounts, contracts, policy terms and forecasts. Use complete cost, risk and valuation methods when local per-unit terms or scenarios cannot establish profitability, obligations or appropriate financial decisions.
