Storage Loss Price Weight Tool

Calculate storage loss price weight from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Loading tool…

Description

Return sum(quantity*price), sum(recoveredValue) and gross loss minus recovery.

Agribusiness budgets distinguish capacity, elapsed time, person-nights, physical losses, usable pack contents and moisture-normalized mass. A nominal unit cost differs from total profitability, and a cold-storage fee says nothing about actual preservation conditions. The reporting basis must match the supplied quantities.

Return sum(quantity*price), sum(recoveredValue) and gross loss minus recovery.

When to use this tool

Use Storage Loss Price Weight when checking the stated business quantity, resource, unit-cost or material-basis convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter lostQuantities, unitPrices, recoveredValues. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read grossLossValue, recoveredValue, netLossValue. Use the output convention below.

Require aligned nonnegative lost quantities, unit prices and recovered currency values. Return sum(quantity*price), sum(recoveredValue) and gross loss minus recovery.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Recoveries are currency amounts, not recovered physical quantities; net loss can be negative and no actual claim or valuation is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified operating and contract records and a complete suitable budget or material assessment for actual financial, logistical or quality decisions.
