Description
Independently sum the lists, return available-commitments and subtract target for slack; feasible means slack>=0.
Adult-learning budgets allocate supplied time, observations, support hours and optional participation. Elapsed session time differs from assessor person-time or serial per-learner time. A completeness count or feasible time balance does not itself assess competence, accessibility or learning quality.
Independently sum the lists, return available-commitments and subtract target for slack; feasible means slack>=0.
When to use this tool
Use Adult Study Plan Weekly Slack when checking the stated adult-learning time, participation, resource or support-allocation convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter availableHours, commitments, studyTarget. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read netAvailable, slack, feasible. Inspect feasible before interpreting the associated values.
Require nonnegative available-hour and commitment entries plus nonnegative study target. Independently sum the lists, return available-commitments and subtract target for slack; feasible means slack>=0.1

| availableHours | Available Hours | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| commitments | Independent nonnegative commitment durations; need not align with availableHours. | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| studyTarget | Study Target | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| netAvailable | Net Available | Required. Finite number. |
| slack | Slack | Required. Finite number. |
| feasible | Feasible | Required. Boolean. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The lists need not align and intervals are not unioned; the tool does not schedule activities or predict learning outcomes.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review actual learner needs, activity plans and verified records with the responsible educational team for substantive scheduling and assessment decisions.
