Delegation Start End Date Check

Check an explicitly supplied delegation interval with inclusive start and exclusive end dates without determining legal validity.

Description

Check a supplied date within a half-open delegation period.

Administrative records distinguish delegated authority, sign-off assertions, conditional fields, counter-minutes and date boundaries. A half-open delegation period excludes its final date, and staffed-counter time can sum simultaneous counters. Local flags and fees do not authenticate an approval or establish lawful authority or adequate service.

Check a supplied date within a half-open delegation period.

When to use this tool

Use Delegation Start End Date Check when you already have startDate, endDateExclusive, asOfDate and need to check a supplied date within a half-open delegation period.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter startDate, endDateExclusive, asOfDate. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read active. Inspect active before interpreting the associated values.

Parse real UTC dates, require endExclusive>=start, and return start<=asOf<endExclusive.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The end date is excluded and a zero-length period is inactive. This does not authenticate authority, determine lawful delegation or verify an actual appointment.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Check controlled policies, original case records, verified roles and account definitions. Apply complete administrative and legal processes when local routing delays, document counts or supplied approval comparisons cannot determine a valid action.
