Description
Add missing*each assumed rate to observed successes and divide by observedTotal+missing.
Acupuncture research records distinguish reporting completeness, source editions, treatment-contact labels, outcome direction and missing-outcome scenarios. These tools organize benign study or public-source metadata; they do not provide treatment instructions, locate intervention sites or determine safety or efficacy. Reporting support and clinical evidence are different questions.
Add missing*each assumed rate to observed successes and divide by observedTotal+missing.
When to use this tool
Use Acupuncture Evidence Missing Outcome Bound when checking the stated benign study-record, public-source or reporting convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter observedSuccess, observedTotal, missing, lowerMissingRate, upperMissingRate. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read lowerRate, upperRate. Use the output convention below.
Require whole observedTotal>=1, successes within observed total and missing>=0, with 0<=lowerMissingRate<=upperMissingRate<=1. Add missing*each assumed rate to observed successes and divide by observedTotal+missing.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| observedSuccess | Observed Success | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| observedTotal | Observed Total | Required. Safe integer; minimum 1. |
| missing | Missing | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| lowerMissingRate | Lower Missing Rate | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| upperMissingRate | Upper Missing Rate | Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| lowerRate | Outcome fraction under the supplied lower missing-rate scenario, not a confidence limit. | Required. Finite number. |
| upperRate | Outcome fraction under the supplied upper missing-rate scenario, not a confidence limit. | Required. Finite number. |

- These are supplied missing-outcome scenarios, not confidence intervals, estimated missingness or a clinical efficacy conclusion.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
